Here is what Scoutiv provides and what remains your responsibility as the sender.
When enabled, Scoutiv adds a recipient-specific unsubscribe footer and one-click headers. Commercial and bulk senders must enable an opt-out whenever law or provider policy requires one.
CAN-SPAM requires that unsubscribe requests be honored within 10 business days. Scoutiv honors them instantly — within seconds of the recipient clicking the link.
Your suppression list grows every time someone unsubscribes. It is permanent — it does not reset at the end of a billing cycle, and it is not affected if you delete a campaign.
If you are running a multi-step follow-up sequence, Scoutiv monitors each recipient's status continuously. You will never accidentally send a follow-up to someone who already replied or opted out.
Every email sent through Scoutiv is sent from a real sender account you connect. Recipients see the address they can recognize and reply to.
Connected account data is used only to provide sending, reply tracking, inbox, security, and compliance features the user enables.
When you connect a sender account to Scoutiv, here is exactly what we do and do not do with your data and account connection.
Sensitive connection data is encrypted at rest. You can disconnect a sender account from Scoutiv at any time.
Scoutiv automates the technical compliance requirements. However, email law places obligations on the sender — that is you — that cannot be automated:
Your contact list: Ensure you have a legitimate basis for emailing each person. Do not purchase lists or scrape emails without permission.
Accurate subject lines: CAN-SPAM prohibits deceptive subject lines and sender info. Your subjects must reflect the content honestly.
Physical mailing address: The CAN-SPAM Act requires you to include a valid physical address in your email template footer.
Applicable local laws: You are responsible for understanding and complying with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and laws where your recipients are located.
If you believe someone is using Scoutiv to send spam or violate email law, report it immediately to [email protected]. We investigate every report and take enforcement action — including account suspension — when violations are confirmed. Protecting the integrity of the platform protects every legitimate user's sender reputation.
